Winter at Loch Garten - Cairngorms - Scotland
When we visited Loch Garten in January 2015 the loch was mostly frozen over but as the temperature was rising over the days we spent in Aviemore and the Cairngorms the ice had begun to thaw and the ice began to retreat giving a mix of reflective ice and snow on top of the frozen loch allowing a beautiful combination of reflections in the ice, snow and water. On the day we visited the sun was out and the beautiful day meant that the cold waters of Loch Garten looked almost tropical showing an amazing array of bright blues in the water.
