Winter at Frozen Loch Morlich - Cairngorms
Taken in February 2015 during a period of very cold weather. Loch Morlich was frozen over and the ice was incredibly thick right to the edges. The sunset on this evening was quite spectacular, this photograph was taken after the sun had dipped below the horizon over to the right of the frame. The last of beautiful clear mountain light caught the Cairngorm Mountain peaks. To the left of of the mountains in the background you can see the ski piste slopes of the Cairngorm Mountain Natural Retreats ski area along with the impressive peaks of Cairn Lochan, Stob Coire an t-Sneachda, Cairn Gorm and Cnap Coire na Spreidhe.
