Ordnance Survey Map Cover
My image taken on Fistral Beach has been chosen as the updated front cover for the 1:25,000 Scale Redruth & St Agnes OS Explorer Map 104 (Camborne & Perranporth).
The images was taken on a trip to Newquay last year where I found myself on Fistral Beach one evening capturing the stunning sunset. The weather conditions were great for surfing so the beach was full with surfers catching the waves in the last of the days light. I had set up this shot looking directly into the sun to capture the reflections of the sun in on the wet beach. I decided the shot was missing scale so I waiting for a group of surfers to make their way along the beach and through the shot, capturing a number of frames so I could chose the perfect positioning. The layer of cloud closes the space at the top of the shot, balancing out the foreground rocks.
