Review of the year - 2022 Photography
2022 was another busy year for my photography with a bit of a move away from landscapes into other areas of the photography world. My day job in marketing means I take thousands of photos each month (with the associated editing workload) which at times, allows little energy for my other work outside of work hours. My calendars continue to prove to be a big success, a big thank you to all of my returning customers, it really means a lot when you continue to purchase and support me each year.
During this year I moved my website to a new more modern platform which was a large undertaking. The previous site had been live since 2013 and as you can imagine, the amount of content to carefully copy over and re-direct caused a few technical headaches. The new website has a more logical layout whilst also allowing me to show off the photographs in a far more user friendly manner. The integrated secure checkout has proved to be a success with calendar purchasers who sometimes struggled with the old setup. I hope this has made a different to site users, it gives me a really solid platform to develop over the coming years.
I’ve not been on many dedicated photography trips year, instead using my holidays from work on family trips to Spain and Italy. I have a few exciting photography plans in the pipeline for 2023 with new areas in Wales and Scotland firmly on the to do list.
I have chosen a set of my favourite 10 photographs taken on my main camera during 2022 and have put these into a collection of images below. The second set of images are all from my phone camera and is a chronological look at some of the trips we’ve enjoyed this year.
May I take this opportunity to pass on my best wishes for a happy and successful 2023 and to thank you all for your continued support through visits to this website and interaction and sharing on my social media channels.
More and more these days I’m travelling with only my mobile phone rather than my Sony camera. Having such a good camera built into the device allow me to grab snapshots wherever I am and has meant that I can capture scenes on my normal daily routine and on days out. My Instagram stories tend to feature mainly phone pictures at the moment which is a testament to the abilities of the Google phone. I’ve uploaded a few images below, all taken on the phone, which are some of the my favourite from our trips this year:
