Southern Ireland - Killarney National Park & Ring of Kerry

My second major photography trip for 2018 was a first for me with a trip across the water to explore the glorious landscape of Southern Ireland. Ireland has long been on my list of places to explore so when the opportunity came up I was really pleased to be able to get the time off work for an extended trip.

We spent 10 days in Ireland altogether, splitting our time between a city break in Cork and a week long exploration by hire car around the south west coastline. We had a base for the week near to Killarney and spent most days on the road hiking and sightseeing around the beautiful mountains and coastline of County Kerry.

After 3 nights in Cork, we began the second part of the trip with a night in Kinsale on the south coast. After Kinsale we made our way towards Killarney stopping at a few of the tourist hotspots including Bantry, Glengarriff and Kenmare. Having a base for the week near Killarney meant we were able to undertake trips in all directions visiting the mountains of the Killarney National Park and locations around the famous 'Ring of Kerry'. Being April the weather conditions weren't always favourable but having a whole week on location meant I could take my time and revisit locations in more favourable conditions. Most of the images from the week were taken whilst out walking, combining two of my favourite pastimes. I've included a selection of my favourite images from the trip below with captions displaying the locations, I hope you enjoy the photographs!
