Filey Bay - Yorkshire Landscape Photography (April 2019)

I spent the Easter weekend break on the Yorkshire Coast with the family in Filey. The weather all weekend was fantastic with bright sunshine and barely a cloud in the sky! When on the east coast I always try to make it up for one sunrise which on this occasion was a very cold but bright Saturday morning. I got to the beach around 40 minutes before the publicised sunrise time and was met with the predicted fully high tide which brought the water right up against the sea wall. I love the way the sun rises up out over the sea when on the Yorkshire coast, very dramatic when the tip of the sun appears and very quickly evolves into blazing sunlight.

I'm getting a little more used to my new Sony A7 full frame camera and the pictures are starting to appear more how I envisage them when out in the field. The dynamic range and quality of the RAW files are very impressive but feel the clarity of the Sony 24-70mm lens is somewhat lacking, I may have to go lens shopping soon...
