City of Bath Architecture Tour

02nd August 2015
I made my first visit to the City of Bath at the end of June having heard excellent feedback from friends and family who have visited. We were only in the city for 24 hours as part of a recent road trip around the UK, but managed in that time to have a good explore and photograph some of the amazing architecture that Bath has to offer. We had an audio tour which we followed around the city, and so managed to find out about the history of the streets and the way that bath developed over the previous centuries. The stone in bath is beautiful and being so bright made the cityscape perfect for photography. We experienced real mix of weather on the day we visited so for the early shots I had plenty of natural light to be use and contend with but as the day went on the clouds appeared dulling down the shine in the sandstone buildings.

We finished the day with an evening visit to the beautiful Thermae Bath Spa which has a roof top pool from which we enjoyed watching the setting sun (which had by then re-appeared) illuminate the rooftops of the city, a perfect way to end a very enjoyable day especially after all the 9 miles of walking we had completed throughout the day.
